About
Carolina Motorsports Park was developed by a group of enthusiasts and racers from the south east. Joe Hooker and Bob Humphreys played leading roles in getting the project built. Land acquisition was completed in July 1998 with construction starting soon thereafter. The site was built on an old airport, known as “Kershaw Airport”. The track was designed by famed track designer Alan Wilson and the full 2.27 mile road course opened in July 1999. In 2009, Kart track construction began and the kart facility began operation in 2010.

Registration
Registration/check-in will be at the track on Friday afternoon from 5-8PM and
Saturday morning from 6:00 – 7:30. You must have your completed Tech Inspection
form. You will receive your drivers wristband when your paperwork is turned in
allowing you to participate in your sessions. You can drop off your trailer in
the paddock on Friday night. If you wish to camp in the paddock see the Camping
section below.
Helmet Requirement
Any driver or passenger on track must have an SA2010 or newer helmet.

Drivers Meeting
A mandatory drivers meeting will be held from 7:20-7:50. Immediately
following this drivers meeting we will have a Novice and Instructor meeting.
Track Sessions
We go hot from 8:00am-12pm and 1pm-5pm.
Novice Group
A mandatory classroom session will be held beginning at 8:00am until
your first session and again following your first session. Please make sure you
attend the classroom sessions or you may not be able to go on track.
Tech Inspection Form
This form must be completed and turned in at registration. You are
responsible for making sure your car is fit for participation in a high speed
track event. We highly recommend a professional inspection. You can have one
done at Markert Motor Works, Mazcare, Miata Afterworld, Gran Turismo East, Bimmer
Motor Works, or a reputable shop of your choice. By turning in this form, you
are indicating that you checked every item listed. Your vehicle must also meet
the criteria described on our website under our car and driver requirements details.
Sound
Restriction
CMP requires all vehicles exhaust at or under 105dB measured
50ft from the track. Exhaust baffles, turn downs or turn aways are permitted if
you exceed these sound limits. No loud engines before 7:30am or after 6pm or
during daily quiet hour (12-1pm). Subject to a fine by the track.
Car numbers
You are required to have numbers on both sides of your car at
least 8 inches tall in a contrasting color. You can supply your own, use
painters tape, or order a set through us. Please specify your top 3 choices and
the color of vinyl requested (white/black/red). We must receive all orders no

Passengers are welcome (must be 16 or older and have a SA2010 or newer helmet)
No racing. This is not a competitive event. Overly aggressive driving will be closely watched and black flagged
All passing is by point-by only
Passing zones will be defined at the drivers meeting
No unmuffled or loud engines after 6:00PM and before 7:30AM
Speed limit in the paddock is 10 mph
